Push Me Mommy

Another great Fisher Price product that I don’t think I could leave without is the infant to toddler swing.

Now we got this swing to go onto his playground set he got for Christmas (which is still in the shed waiting to be built), but we currently have it attached to our lanai. My son loves to swing and play in his swing, and I enjoy sitting out there and reading. In the one month that we have had it up, I have already finished 3 whole books, and I am on my fourth one right now. I think I need to start going to the library and renting some books. I think the best part of this swing is that it goes from the infant stage to the toddler stage. It goes from 10 pounds to 35 pounds, and it has 2 different recline positions, plus a seat belt and the tray. I love the tray because I am able to put some toys on there for him, and he plays and throws them at me, and we just have a great time. I can’t wait til we able to attach this swing to his playground outside and really be able to play.

Swing Me, Bounce Me

One of my favorite baby items we have is the Fisher Price Space Saver Swing and Seat.

Honestly, this is one of the BEST things ever. There is no need to have both a swing and a bouncer seat when you can have a two in one product like this. It is one of the smallest swings in the market to begin with compared to some of the other just normal swings. Plus the fact that it is a two in one being that it is a swing and a bouncer, you are saving room because you only have one product and not two. The swing has 5 different variable speeds, plus it has vibration mode, and you can have both on at the same time. It also has a 3 point harness, which is very nice to have because you want to make sure you baby is safe. There is a removable toy bar and music. Music, oh my goodness, sometimes music is the best thing for a baby, because it relaxes them. You can easily lock down the swing into just the bouncer seat position, so you can feed the baby if you need to, or just have them in seating position with the music on or the vibrations on. The material is machine washable, and easily able to get off to wash it.

All in all, this is a great product and I am so happy we got this as a gift for our son. I give it a 4.8 out of 5 stars.

Cover Me Up

April 25th, 2011 by Alicia

When I was registering for my baby shower, everyone told me that I needed to put down one of those expensive 10 piece bedding sets, which I thought, and still do is ridiculous. Do you really need valances, the wall hangings, the diaper stacker, the lamp shade, the this, the that and the other thing. Do you really need all that stuff because when you have a newborn, they tell you just to put a sheet on the mattress and that is, nothing else. You aren’t suppose to use a crib bumper, you shouldn’t use a comforter or anything else like that. Even now that my son is 8 months old, we just put in the crib bumper mostly because he is so active and moving, and he loves to bang his head and get his legs stuck, but at 8 months old, he is old enough to move around and not get stuck next to the bumper like he could and maybe would if he was a newborn.

We did get a small 3 piece bedding set, and extra sheets, because babies poop, puke and drool over everything. I know I change my sons sheet every week, sometimes twice a week depending on what happens that week, and how messy he is. The comforter we did get in the set we use on the floor for playtime. We sit on it, and we talk about the animals and feel the materials and textures and just talk. I just to tell him everything that is in his room, the colors, the animals, what it means, what it does.

For me, having all that extra isn’t needed, but I know for some people to have all that stuff, so for them it is fine. For me, I just need to simple things and use everything we have. Well it seems the little guy is getting up for his morning nap, so I better get going. Have a great day everyone!!!

Let Me Monitor You

April 23rd, 2011 by Alicia

Today we will be reviewing one of the best things ever, a monitor. The one I have is the Glow n Go Monitoring System from Safety First.

Having a monitor is one of those items that if you don’t buy another thing, you should have one of these, unless the baby is sleeping in your room for the first 2 years of their life. I know for my husband and I, we had our son sleep in our room for the first 3 weeks, mostly so I could heal from my c-section and have him close by. But even having him in our room, we still used the monitor next to the cradle, and had it one while the little guy was sleeping and we were not in the bedroom. We have had him in his own room since week 3, and he is now 8 months old, so we have been using our monitors a lot. We have two monitors, one in our bedroom, and the other in the office. The base in his room basically stays on the whole time, unless I know we won’t be home for most the day, then I turn it off.

Safety 1st brings ultra clear audio monitoring to parents with the Glow & Go Duo Monitoring System. As your baby travels through the busy day, so does the Glow & Go Monitoring System. From nursery to playroom to kitchen, there’s no need to plug and unplug over and over again. Just set the portable unit near your baby and see and hear your baby’s sounds on your portable receiver from over 400 feet away. Plus they can be run on batteries, so you can always unplug it and work outside while baby gets their nap in. Some bonus features are that is has a digital room temperature display, so you always know how to dress baby while sleeping. It has a nightlight on the baby’s unit, which stays on for a minute, and automatically shuts off. It has the lights and sounds features, so even if you don’t have the sound turn up, you can see the lights moving, knowing baby is up and fussing. My husband loves this feature because we are able to watch a movie without the sound on, but see the lights. This monitor has a low battery indicator if you are using it as a cordless one, and a range that is unbeatable. Last but not least is the energy efficient adapters. The adapters only draw energy when the units are actually on, so it is okay that you leave things plugged in. Better for the environment…and your wallet!

I give these a 5 out of 5 stars. I love love love this product!
